Shad @ CBC Broadcasting Centre – July 12, 2014

On Saturday, July 12, I got wind of a free outdoor concert by Canadian rapper Shad a mere couple of hours before it was to happen. Naturally, I grabbed my camera and raced down to the CBC Broadcasting Centre on the corner of Front and John. The event had something to do with a World Cup soccer celebration, but I was there to take pictures of Shad, not to play footsies (or is it “footie”?) with the soccer-lovin’ denizens of Toronto. Anyway, here are the pics!

Shad was joined onstage later in the set by special guest Eternia.

I waited very patiently to get this shot of Shad jumping. Veeery patiently.

NOTES:
-I usually use the “One Shot” auto focus setting on my camera. This time, since I knew Shad would be moving around a lot, I tried the “AI Servo” mode, which is designed to “keep moving objects sharp within the viewfinder as you track the object.” Well, the results were mixed. I did get some pretty sharp shots, but I also got a lot that were blurry. Need to do some more experimenting to see if I can improve on the results.
