NOTES:
-I really went overboard on these with the “clarity” and contrast settings in Photoshop. When viewed larger, there’s some noise in the pics that I’m not crazy about, but they don’t look too bad at this size.
-There were four bands on the bill at this show, but this was the only one I photographed. Either the lighting wasn’t great, or the bands just didn’t inspire me enough to take pictures. When I first started out taking concert photos almost a year ago, I would shoot anything and everything. Now, I’m a bit more selective (lazy?) with what I shoot, just because I have a much better idea of what will make for a decent final result, and I don’t want to “waste my time” working on pictures that won’t meet a certain level of quality. Having said that, I still have a long way to go when it comes to mastering concert photography. There are photographers out there who’ve got the knowledge, skill and talent to make amazing concert images, even when presented with less than ideal situations (e.g. bad lighting). I’m not yet at that point. Nothing much to do except stick it out and keep learning band photography until I get there!
