Hello Everybody,

Welcome to Learning Band Photography! I’m Theo, the guy who started this little blog. Basically, what Learning Band Photography is about is my quest to become a full-time music photographer.

I started getting seriously interested in concert photography on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. That’s the day I went to a free concert at the Horseshoe Tavern here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I brought my camera with me and somehow gathered the courage to whip it out and take some pictures (see those pictures here). After that, I was hooked. I started going back every week and photographing the shows.

People say it’s really hard to make a living as a music photographer these days. Maybe even impossible. But I say, that’s a load of hooey! I’m going to give it my best shot, because I’m sick and tired of working jobs that suuuck.

I love going to concerts and taking pictures, photographing bands, capturing emotion. It isn’t always easy. Sometimes, I get things wrong, I screw up. But that’s what it’s all about. Making mistakes. Learning. Gaining experience. Getting better. You just have to get out there and keep doing it. You have to be dedicated. That’s the whole goal here. To get better, to improve, until you’re at the top of your game. But that’s not going to happen overnight. It’ll take years. YEARS. But I’m going for it.

Join me on the journey.
