Interpol, Cosmicide @ The Danforth Music Hall – July 14, 2015

I shot Interpol and Cosmicide at The Danforth Music Hall (DMH) on Tuesday, July 14. The DMH is one of the nicer concert venues in the city. I hadn’t shot there in about eight months. Kind of a bummer, though, that the lighting wasn’t the greatest. Too many reds and blues, and not especially bright. Also, no photo pit.

It wasn’t totally packed for Cosmicide, so I was able to move around a bit and get shots from some different angles during the three-song window. But the place was completely rammed by the time Interpol hit the stage. I didn’t want to piss people off by trying to squeeze my way to the front, so I was pretty much stuck in one spot. Would have liked some more variety in my shots, but sometimes, that’s how it goes. Shot on assignment for Aesthetic Magazine Toronto. You can see the full set of pictures right here.

Colin Stetson and Sarah Neufeld, Ryan Sawyer @ The Great Hall – June 9, 2015

Colin Stetson and Sarah Neufeld performed at The Great Hall on Tuesday, June 9. Ryan Sawyer was the opening act. I requested this show because I had never shot at this venue before. The place was dimly lit, and the bizarre instrumental music of the headliners wasn’t exactly my cup of tea, but I still think I came away with a few decent photos. Shot on assignment for Aesthetic Magazine Toronto. Check out the full set of pictures right here.

Lieutenant (Nate Mendel of Foo Fighters), Yukon Blonde @ The Mod Club – April 1, 2015

There was something awe-inspiring about being 10 feet away from the guy that usually plays bass for the Foo Fighters, a band that sells out arenas with little effort. Lieutenant is the name of Nate Mendel’s side project, which I photographed at The Mod Club on Wednesday, April 1, as well as Vancouver’s Yukon Blonde. Shot on assignment for Aesthetic Magazine Toronto. You can see the full set of concert pics right here.
